About Evan Dowling

Hi, my name is Evan. I'm a native of Dallas, Tx and currently live in Fort Myers, FL. After high school, I studied jazz saxophone performance at Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL under Paul Butcher. During my time at Southeastern, I began to experiment with photography using a Nikon film camera that was given to me as a gift. I realized right away that I connected very personally with the art of photography. At that time, however, photography was simply an enjoyable hobby.

After earning a B.A. in music performance, I did many various jobs, most notably, I was the assistant music director at First Assembly of God in Fort Myers, FL for 11 years. After 11 years in the same job, I really felt like I needed to do something different. Take a chance. I felt like my life had become too predictable. So, I quit that job and started a media production company, CineVista Media with my long-time friend, Rhett Jarrett.

Years later, it has definitely been exciting and not at all predictable making a living as a photographer. I have had the honor of working with some very prestigious clients and my work has been published locally as well as internationally.

I'm still very active as a saxophonist in my area, and I love the constant evolution that I experience while exploring the many facets of life through music and photography.
